Kate Shelor, an intimacy coach and certified hypnotherapist based in Las Vegas, has twice worked aboard one such cruise run by Temptation, a company that charters entire ships to create a uniquely uninhibited experience at sea.
One of the most intriguing (and secretive) aspects of these cruises is the “red room,” a private, couples-only space where phones and cameras are strictly prohibited and access is closely monitored by staff, Kate explained on her TikTok.
The room’s exact location varies depending on the ship, but it’s always situated in one of the larger venues due to its popularity. Before each voyage, staff load brand new mattresses onto the ship, along with stacks of clean linens.
“They bring in loads of fresh mattresses covered with plastic, topped with sheets, towels, and water stations. The lighting is soft and sexy, it’s all set up to make people feel relaxed and comfortable,” Kate said.
