Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck may have gone their separate ways romantically, but their latest public appearance together is stirring major backlash online.
The former couple, who finalized their divorce in August last year, shocked fans when they reunited on the red carpet for the premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman — a musical drama starring Lopez and produced by Affleck.
Despite their split, the two appeared side by side, smiling for cameras and exchanging polite words. But not everyone was impressed. Many fans took to social media, calling the reunion “uncomfortable” and “tone-deaf.”
Lopez even took a moment during the premiere to thank her ex-husband.
“Thank you so much, thank you everybody for being here tonight. Thank you, Ben — this movie wouldn’t have been made without you and without Artist Equity,” she said to the crowd.
The gesture, however, only added fuel to the fire.
During recent interviews, Lopez addressed what it was like working with Affleck again. “If it wasn’t for Ben, the movie wouldn’t have gotten made,” she admitted. “And yeah, things happen — you have to keep going.”
She went on to explain that the film helped her heal during a difficult personal time, calling it a “beautiful story about love and escapism.”
But online, fans didn’t hold back their opinions.
“These two are more indecisive than I am when picking dinner,” one person wrote.
Another added, “They keep getting married and divorced — they’re exhausting!”
Others criticized both stars, with one comment reading, “He’s a washed-up actor, and she’s a narcissist who can’t let go.”
Still, some fans defended the pair, praising them for staying professional despite their past.
